Fashion Aid. November, 5 (1985).

Fashion Aid, an off-shoot of Band Aid (to raise money for victims of famine in Africa) was a spectacular star-studded event that ended in a fabulous runway ‘wedding’ between singer Freddie Mercury and actress Jane Seymour.

The gala fashion show event featured some of the world’s best-known fashion designers including Armani and Yves Saint Laurent, with designs presented by top models including Grace Jones, Jerry Hall, Barbara Bach. The event was attended by many famous people including the then Prime Minster Margaret Thatcher, Ringo Starr, Boy George, Angelica Houston, Michael Caine and Shakira Baksh.

Fashion Aid was a single venue benefit concert held on 5 November 1985. The original event was organised by Bob Geldof as part of Live Aid to raise funds for relief of the ongoing Ethiopian famine. Billed as the "largest gathering of fashion creatives in the UK", the event was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, United Kingdom (attended by 5,500 people).
